Whew! Just got back from my second big concert this summer, which was another hair metal extravaganza.

Sure, the music wasn't very sophisticated, or, let's be honest, all that good. But there was definitely something very powerful and very visceral going on, and we all had a great time, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I mean, these guys really know how to put on a show.

Seriously, rock stars are so charismatic. (The good ones, anyway.) The lead singer of Poison is a local boy, and he endeared himself to the crowd all night - even up to the point of inviting us to their upcoming show across the state in Hershey, where our tickets from tonight will get us in for free.

He was so proud of his hometown that he promised us, "We're gonna blow shit up for every song!" And with the exception of "Something to Believe In", they sure did.

One of the early highlights of the evening was Faster Pussycat's heavy metal cover of "These Boots Were Made for Walkin'".

One of the early lowlights of the evening was the rest of Faster Pussycat's set. But I guess when you're the first of four bands, expectations can't really be that high.
