Don't get me wrong, I liked all of the Lord of the Rings movies. I had no problem with them winning all of those Oscars, tying them with that cinematic masterpiece that was Titanic.

However, I'm afraid that one of those eleven may have had dire consequences.

Specifically: in the grocery store yesterday, I heard an Annie Lennox song. I think it's called "The Doo-ba-doo-ba-doo-doo-doo Song".

If this is indicative of an Annie Lennox resurgence, then you have to ask yourself: sure, Tolkien founded a much-beloved genre of literature and film, but at what cost?
