There's nothing like having an 11 year old sister to make you feel old.

I IMed my mom just now, only to find Chrissy on the other end (she's home sick today).

She said that Mom needed my password. Which password? I asked. "idk", she responded.

I figured that she had just mashed some keys on the keyboard, but then I realized that "d" and "k" are too far away from each other for that to have been the case. After a few moments I realized that it was some kind of crazy newfangled Internet abbreviation for "I don't know".

The conversation continued until I noticed that she had said "kk" a few too many times for it to have been a typo.

Me: I was asking if Mom got it yet

Chrissy: kk

Gus: what is "kk"?

Chrissy: okay

Chrissy: get used to it

We grown-ups are just so out of touch.
