I had a dream last night where I made a really good joke. It was so good that the cast of the West Wing gave me a standing ovation.

In retrospect, it probably wasn't really that good, but I'm not sure if I'm remembering it right.

You see, I was doing something with the cast of the West Wing where each time, right before we started, we had to sing the transition into the chorus from Van Halen's "Panama". (See how contrived the setup is?)

Anyway, after one of these whatever we were doing, Bradley Whitford starts clapping sarcastically. Then he asks me, for some reason, "Do you know what that sound is?"

To which I retort: "What, the sound of you clapping, or the distant hum of Eddie Van Halen not playing his guitar?"

Standing O.

Yeah. You know what? That joke doesn't even make much sense.
